The Marshall High School Swim Women’s Swim Team competed in two meets this past week.
The team competed against all of the teams in their league in The SCC League Relay meet. The team was victorious placing six points ahead of both Harper Creek and Plainwell who tied for second. The top finishing relays for the Redhawks were the 800 Free Relay and the 300 Fly Relay. In the 800 Free Relay, Tarah Lang lead off by obtaining the state cut for the individual 200 Free. The other swimmers on the relay were Natalie Stiner, Amaya Walker, and Julia Mathieu. In the Fly relay Natalie Stiner, Kennedy Karns, and Tarah Lang finished first by 12 seconds over second place team from Sturgis. Great job by all swimmers and divers!
On Saturday, The Marshall High School Ladyhawk Swim Team competed in the Spartan Relays. Facing some of the best teams in the state, the Redhawks placed 5th out of 13 teams and was the top division 3 finishing team at the meet. This was an outstanding finish for the young Redhawk team. The top finishing relays on the day were the 800 Free Relay (2nd) and the Diving Relay (4th), Individual Medley Relay (4th), and the 200 Free Relay (4th). The 800 Relay was lead off by Julia Mathieu, who obtained the 200 Free State Cut time, followed by Larin Long, Natalie Stiner, and Tarah Lang. The IM relay was made up of Natalie Stiner, Amaya Walker, Kennedy Karns, and Tarah Lang. The Diving Relay was made up of Ally Johnson and Marie Mathieu. And finally, the 200 Free Relay was swum by Madi Russell, Jaylyn Jones, Larin Long, and Amaya Walker. Great job by all swimmers and divers.
