Boys Varsity Baseball · Marshall Baseball wins 5 in a row!


As the poor weather prevailed early in the week,  the Redhawks
prevailed in games in the latter half of the week,  by beating Quincy
10-3 on Thursday.
Angelo Lerma, Jarrett DeLand, and Logan Austin each had two hits.
Austin got the win on the mound.

In an I-8 Conference Doubleheader on Friday,   Marshall swept Jackson
County Western by scores of 5-2 and 6-3.

In game 1, Zack Zacharski went the distance on the mound to record the win holding Western to 2
runs while striking out 5.  Jarrett DeLand had 3 hits and 3 RBI’s.
Logan Austin 2 hits and Rickey Nye scored 2 runs.

In game 2,  Evan Asselin threw 4 innings holding Western to 2 runs to pick up the
pitching win.   Trenton Fuller went the final 3 innings to get the
save.   In the fifth inning Matt Lubis hit a 3 run homer to give the
Redhawks the lead for good.  John Nash had 3 hits and Jarrett DeLand
had 2.

On Saturday Marshall finished out the week strong with 2 wins over
Battle Creek Central.   Jarrett DeLand had 5 hits on the day, Wyatt
Durham 4 hits,  Logan
Austin had 3 hits, John Nash 3, and Zach Zacharski had a home run with
2 RBI’s.  Angelo Lerma and Calvin Fulmer each picked up wins on the
mound.

Marshall is now 8-4 overall and 2-2 in the I8.

The Redhawks are back in action on Tuesday, April 24th vs. Pennfield
at Joe Cooper Field.
