Boys Varsity Baseball · Baseball Wins 2 at Northwest


The Redhawk Varsity Baseball team traveled to Jackson Northwest for a key I-8 doubleheader match up with the Mounties on Tuesday 5/15/18.   After 14 innings of play in the doubleheader,   Marshall pitching only game up 2 runs which led the Redhawks to a sweep of Jackson Northwest.  In game 1 Evan Asselin shutout Jackson Northwest as he only gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5.  At the plate Jarrett DeLand had 2 doubles and knocked in 4 runs. Calvin Fulmer also had a big 2 RBI double.  Kole DeLand had a double with Brad Feasel stealing a base and scoring a run.  Defensively MHS played was error free which included a sparkling double play by Logan Austin from his shortstop position.  Game 1 Marshall 6   Jackson Northwest 0
In game 2 Zack Zacharski scattered 4 hits on the mound, struck out 5 as he gave up no earned runs.   Logan Austin, Kole DeLand(2B) each had 2 hits. John Nash, Calvin Fulmer, and Rickey Nye each  had a base hit.  Game 2 Marshall 4   Jackson Northwest 2
The Redhawks are now 10-2 in I-8 play,  18-10 overall and return to action at Cooper Field Thursday against Dansville for Senior night.
