Marshall’s Girls Soccer season came to an end on Friday evening with a 1-0 loss to #2 ranked Gull Lake in the regional finals. After a scoreless first half, Gull Lake converted on a penalty kick awarded by the referree. Despite great pressure and several good late chacnes, Marshall was unable to get on the board and Gull Lake advanced to the state semi-finals by a 1-0 scoreline.
The loss ends Marshall’s season at 16-4-3. It also ends the Redhawks 18 game unbeaten streak that saw them not lose a regular season game (or any of their first 4 state tournament games) after spring break this year. Marshall finished the year as district champs (3rd consecutive title), I-8 champs (4th consecutive title), and I-8 tournament champs (3rd consecutive title).
