Game one:

Two Redhawks Pitchers Rally Together to Shutout Battle Creek Central

Redhawks defeated Battle Creek Central 15-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Tyler Rupp struck out #42 to finish off the game.

Redhawks secured the victory thanks to 12 runs in the third inning.  Redhawks batters contributing to the big inning included Carson DeLong, Rupp, Issac Stetler, Nick Fitzmaurice, Frank Fitzgerald, and  DeLong, all driving in runs in the frame.

Redhawks notched 12 runs in the third inning.  DeLong, Rupp, Stetler, Fitzmaurice, Fitzgerald, and  DeLong each had RBIs in the frame.

One bright spot for Battle Creek Central was a single by #27 in the third inning.

Ian Underwood got the start for Redhawks. He lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking one.

#42 was on the hill for Battle Creek Central. He went three innings, allowing 15 runs on 14 hits and striking out four.

Redhawks collected 14 hits on the day.  DeLong, Stetler, Sam Fairley, Rupp, Fitzgerald, and Fitzmaurice all managed multiple hits for Redhawks.  DeLong led Redhawks with three hits in three at bats.  Redhawks tore up the base paths, as five players stole at least two bases. Stetler led the way with four.  Redhawks was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Adrian Martinez had the most chances in the field with five.

#27 went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Battle Creek Central in hits.  Battle Creek Central didn’t commit a single error in the field. #27 had the most chances in the field with five.

Game two:

Jorgenson Collects Four Hits as Redhawks Defeats Battle Creek Central

Bryce Jorgenson got busy on the basepaths on Thursday, knocking four hits in Redhawks’s 26-1 victory over Battle Creek Central.  Jorgenson singled in the first, doubled in the first, singled in the second, and singled in the third.

Tyler Rupp was on the pitcher’s mound for Redhawks. He surrendered one run on two hits over three innings, striking out six and walking zero.

#25 was on the hill for Battle Creek Central. He allowed two hits and four runs over one-third of an inning.  #52 threw two and two-thirds innings in relief.

Redhawks scattered 17 hits in the game.  Jorgenson, Blain Wilson, Carson DeLong, Sam Fairley, Rupp, and Frank Fitzgerald all had multiple hits for Redhawks.  Jorgenson went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Redhawks in hits.  Redhawks stole 33 bases during the game as eight players stole more than one. Fitzgerald led the way with seven.
