Originally scheduled for April 19, the Marshall Golfers finally hosted the make-up Sports Festival – Tom Reynolds Invitational, yesterday May 13th. Hats, gloves, and rain suits continue to be the story plaguing the Marshall Golfers and yesterday was no exception. However, Marshall’s Red Team was ready to compete against the eight teams that were able to reschedule the tournament and took the “W” with a team total of 314. Matt Flynn posted a 76 good for 3rd place, Haydon Chapman had a 77 placing in 6th, Colin McLane had a 78 for 8th and Jacob Martinson also fired a 78 placing him in 8th place. Additionally, Carl Quist had an 83 and Garrett Voigt had an 87. Finishing in 2nd was Mattawan with a team total of 319 and 3rd was Western with a 322.
Marshall’s Black Team was able to post a 326 placing them in 4th! Leading the team was Jacob Martinson with his personal best 78, Joey Saari fired an 80, Harrison Chapman had an 83, Konner Voigt an 85, and Dominic Hills a 93.
Our two JV teams also played with the Marshall White Team posting a 376. Julian Strand led the team with an 84, Nate Tucker a 93, Jon Bomia a 97, Grant Busse a 102, and David Nash a 131.
Marshall Green Team posted a 491 with Logan Murphy shooting a 111, Carter Wheeler a 123, Fletcher Robson a 127, and Damen Hagelgans a 130.
Marshall Varsity will be back on the course this Thursday, May 16th looking to be the I8 League Champions. They will tee it up at Bedford Valley GC at 9:00 am.
