The MHS Baseball team traveled to Hastings on Tuesday and swept a doubleheader.
In game 1 the Redhawks scored 18 runs while holding Hastings to 4 runs. Trenton Fuller picked up the win on the mound. Cooper Middleton had 3 hits, Rickey Nye 2, and Fuller helped his cause with 2 hits including a double. Thomas Andalon also doubled.
In game 2 Marshall bested the Saxons 9-2. Odie Butler and Blake Patterson limited Hastings to 2 runs on 3 hits. Offensively Marshall was led by Nye’s 3 hits(double), John Nash 2 doubles, Butler 2 hits(double), Fuller 2 hits(double), and Middleton’s 2 hits. Felipe Martinez tripled, Justin Hankey and Wyatt Gillum doubled.
Marshall is now 17-7 overall and 7-2 in the I8.
The Redhawks play again Thursday, May 16th on the road at Pennfield High School.
