Girls Varsity Soccer · Girls’ Soccer Advances to the Regional Final

Marshall defeated Dexter by a score of 1-0 tonight at Spring Arbor University.  With the win Marshall advances to the regional final for the 3rd consecutive year.

Marshall got a goal midway through the first half on a long range free kick from Olivia Zulewski.  In a game that was mainly contested in the midfield, Marshall managed a few other quality chances, but was unable to beat the Dexter goalkeeper again.  In the 2nd half, Marshall did an excellent job of limiting Dexter’s chances offensively and closed out the shutout.  Maddie Reynolds earned the shutout in goal.  It was her 12th shutout of the season.
With the win, Marshall moves to 19-2-0 on the season.  They advance to the regional final Friday evening at Spring Arbor University 7:00 kick-off.  The game will be a rematch of last years regional final as Marshall will again face Gull Lake.
