Girls Varsity Soccer · Girls Soccer Season Ends

Marshall’s season came to an end Tuesday night at Portage Northern High School in the MHSAA Division 2 State Semifinals.  Final score was Forest Hill Northern 2 Marshall 1.  Marshall got a late goal from a Katie Foster header off of an Olivia Zulewski corner kick.  With the score tied at 1-1 another shootout for the Redhawks.  Forest Hills won the shootout 3-2 for the 2-1 victory.  It is Forest Hills 4th straight trip to the State Finals.  Marshall’s season ends with a 20-3 record, the I-8 Championship, the I-8 Tourney Championship and District and Regional Championships (Marshall Girls’ Soccer first ever).  Below are a couple of links to some great photos from the Battle Creek Enquirer and a thank you from Coach Morgan.

“On behalf of the players and the rest of the coaching staff, I want to thank the Marshall Community for their support during this tournament run.  Students, parents, teachers, and community members at large turned up in huge numbers and that support helped propel us to new heights as a program.  To be on our bench last night and see those huge football stands full on our side was definitely inspiring and roar when we scored was a huge jolt of adrenaline.  It’s awesome to coach in a community that supports its sports the way you do, Marshall.  Thanks!!”  –Coach Morgan
