Girls Varsity Golf · Girls Varsity Golf Heads to State Championship

The Girls Golf Teams held their end of season banquet Tuesday night at Marshall Country Club.  Varsity golf earned a total of 10 first place finishes of their 16 contests, a record for MHS Girls Golf.  Experience and post-season play was key in earning their first place finishes. The golfers have played together since 6th grade and Coach Hamilton has 40 years of experience, which means he knows the golf courses, he can correct golf swings, and he can calm players down when they are struggling. We have been very fortunate to have all the people behind the scenes who contribute to the success of girls golf: Coach Hamilton, Sal Konkle (Golf Coach), Dan Coddens, (MHS Athletic Director,  Laura Altic (MHS Athletics Secretary), Matt Thompson (golf pro at Marshall Country Club), Nancy Chapman (Middle School Golf Coach), the parents of each of these athletes, and members of  Marshall Country Club who donate monies to support the Girls Golf program and wish to remain anonymous.  Thank you!  Congratulations on a great season: Malena Solis, Emily McClane, Katie Kolassa, Lindsay Malone, Karlee Malone, Marie Mathieu, and JV players: Kylie Brown, Lilly Bowman, Noelia Barroso, Alexis Chamberlain.

The Varsity players depart today to play at Grand Valley State University’s The Meadows Golf Course for the State Championship Friday and Saturday. Tee off is at 10:00 am Friday morning. Best of luck ladies!
