Freshman Kameron George was the lone Marshall High School bowling team member to advance from regional competition to the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) state finals. George led the 112-player field after the first two games with scores of 244 and 217. He finished the day in third adding games of 187, 189, 179 and 142 for a 1,158 total pin fall. He will compete at Century Bowl in Waterford on Saturday, March 7. Competition starts at 8:25 AM.
The team tournament on Friday saw a young Marshall Girls team finish 13th out of 17 schools and the boys team finish 7th out of 19 schools. The equally young MHS boys’ squad shot the high Baker game of the tournament with a 257 game.
The second highest score in singles for the Marshall boys was Austin Hackworth, 10, who finished 17th, with 1,073.
The high finisher for the Lady Hawks was Olivia Hudson, 11, who shot 897 and finished 31st in the 98 player field.
