Marshall took on the visiting Panthers from Western last night and took the win in three straight sets by scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-17. With the victory, they are now on an 11 game win streak. They also improve to 4-0 in conference play and are currently tied for first place with Pennfield. Both are 4-0 in conference play. Next Wednesday’s match at Pennfield will be a big one. For the Redhawks last night, Olivia Webber led the way with 14 kills followed closely by Abby Welke with 11. Teagan Giannunzio ran the offence again with 28 assists and 5 digs. Ella McAllister led the defensive effort with 11 digs to go along with her 3 serving aces.
“The girls had some specific tasks that we worked on in the match tonight. They improved on those kills throughout each set. It’s really good to see that we can have a task at hand and execute. This is one special group of young ladies and I’m happy to be a part of it.” Coach Bre Johnson.
Marshalls overall record now stands at 13-2. Their next competition is 10-3 when they host a quad with Three Rivers, Delton and Portage Northern.
