Girls Varsity Volleyball · Marshall beats Pennfield in 3 straight sets!

The Ladyhawks traveled to Pennfield tonight to take on the Panthers. Both teams were 4-0 in conference play. Marshall played a little sluggish all night but managed to pull off the victory with scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-14. Marshall now sits alone on top of the conference with a 5-0 record.

Offensively for Marshall, Abby Welke led the way with 14 kills, 4 blocks and 6 digs. Olivia Webber was close behing with 9 kills of her own to go with 3 blocks. Teagan Giannunzio ran the offense tallying up 23 assists and 3 aces. She also chipped in 5 digs with her defensive effort. Ella McAllister led the way on defense by picking up 10 digs.

“‘We came out slowand made a lot of errors in the first two sets but still pulled off the win in each of those sets. We finally got comfortable and played out game in the third set to win the match in 3 straight. It was good for us to feel some pressure and be able to fight our way through it. This team is up for the challenge and they continue to impress night in and night out.” Coach Bre Johnson

Marshall’s overall record is now 17-2. They play next this Saturday, 10/10/2020 at Pontiac Notre Dame Prep.
