Girls Varsity Volleyball · Marshall remains undeated in conference play!

Marshall took on the Titans of Lumen Christi last night and won in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-10 and 25-22 to remain undeated in conference play and still hasn’t lost a set. With the win last night in Marshall’s last home conference match of the season, the Ladyhawks have clinched, at the very least, a tie for the conference championship with only one match remaining. This would be the first conference championship achieved in recent history for the volleyball program.

Leading the way last night on the offensive side of the net was Olivia Webber with 10 kills and 2 aces followed closely by Abby Welke with 6 kills and 4 aces. Also contributing offensively last night was Courtney Fuller and Regan Fulmer each tallying 5 kills a piece. Teagan Giannunzio ran the offense with 25 set assists and 1 ace. Defensively for the Ladyhawks, Liv Webber led they way with 11 digs. Abby Welke and Teagan Giannunzio were close behind stacking up 8 digs each.

“It was great to be able to honor our 7 seniors in their last conference match up at home against Lumen Christi. These 7 girls (Teagan Giannunzio, Regan Fulmer, Courtney Fuller, Olivia Webber, Ja’nyece Larry, Abby Welke and Aubrey Wise) have dedicated a lot of time, effort and energy to volleyball and our growing program at Marshall. This is the most talented class to ever come through Marshall. I’m honored to have coached them and excited to see what the future holds for them. They have set the bar high for the future of this program. It was also fun to watch them get another win under their belt.” Coach Bre Johnson

Marshall’s record now stands at 20-3 overall and 6-0 in conference play. Their next outing is Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Lakewood HS.
