Girls Varsity Swimming · Lady Redhawk Swimmers take 4th at League!


The Marshall Girls Swim Team competed in the SCC League Meet this past weekend, finishing the season in the same fashion in which it started with dropping times every time they hit the water.  The girls posted 64 personal best times, took 27 top 16 finishes, and placed 4th overall in the conference.

The Lady Redhawk Seniors came out and swam tough in their final conference meet.  Between the 5 seniors, they finished in the top 16 in 12 races and posted 13 personal best swims.  Kati Kraushaar swam personal bests in the 50 Breast (relay) in a 46.04 and 100 Breast in a 1:38.93.  Jaylyn Jones placed 4th in the 200 IM in a personal best time of 2:29.64, 7th in the 500 Free in a personal best time of 5:47.07, and the 50 Free (relay) in a 26.41.  Larin Long placed 10th in the 200 Free and 5th in the 100 Back in a personal best time of 1:09.01.  Aurelia Wade placed 9th in the 100 Back in a personal best time of 1:12.91, the 50 Free (relay) in a 30.27, 200 Free in a 2:25.75 and 100 Free (relay) in a 1:05.26.  Reagan Winnie placed 3rd in the 100 Breast in a 1:14.46, placed 6th in the 200 IM in a personal best time of 2:32.03, 50 Free (relay) in 27.82 and 50 Breast (relay) in a 32.45.

Annabelle Machalka swam personal best times in the 50 Free in a 28.72, placing 16th and the 100 Free in a 1:05.21, placing 15th.   Lanae Warnsley swam a personal best in the 100 Free in a 1:25.60.  Miriam Brownell placed 6th in the 100 Fly, with a personal best time of 1:08.11, 50 Fly (Relay) in a 29.92, 100 Free (relay) in a 1:00.52, and she placed 10th in the 50 Free with a time of 27.29.  Bodil Loonen placed 13th in the 200 Free swimming a personal best time of 2:22.34, finished 14th in the 500 Free with a time of 6:26.81, and 50 Free in a 29.32.  Lindsay Malone set personal best times in the 100 Free in a 1:21.78, 50 Fly (relay) in a 44.13, and 100 Free (relay) in a 1:19.80.  Aubrey Peek swam personal bests in the 50 Free (relay) in a 28.35, 100 Free (relay) in a 1:03.95, and 100 Free in a 103.85 in which she finished in 12th place.

The Freshman Lady Redhawks completed their first conference with continued improvements.  These young ladies accounted for 34 of the team’s 64 personal best times.  Adreonna Hall swam the 50 Free in 38.73, 100 Free in a 1:25.06, and 50 Free (Relay) in a 39.45.  Jordan Harrell swam the 50 Free (relay) in a 35.13, 50 Free in a 35.76 and 100 Free in a 1:21.05.  Mackenzie Heath swam a 50 Back (relay) in a 37.98, 50 Free in a 33.45, 100 Free in a 1:16.41, and 100 Free (relay) in a 1:17.52.  Kaelyn Konkle swam the 50 Fly (relay) in a 35.54, 100 Fly in a 1:21.84, 100 Breast in a 1:38.04, and the 50 Free (relay) in a 30.64.  Hallie Machalka swam the 500 Free in a 7:35.96 and 50 Free (relay) in a 32.25.  Alexis Olding swam the 50 Free (relay) in a 33.85, 100 Free in a 1:21.05, and 50 Free in a 36.21.  Reese Rellinger placed 11th in the 100 Back in a personal best time of 1:13.43, 200 IM in a 2:53.98, 50 Back (relay) in a 34.10, and 100 Free (relay) in a 1:07.92.  Cadynce Rewa placed 15th in the 200 Free in a time of 2:25.01, 16th in the 500 Free in a 6:28.09, 50 Free (relay) in a 29.58, and 100 Free (relay) in a 1:07.92.  Harper Snyder swam the 50 Free in a 35.87.  Alex Winnie placed 16th in the 100 Breast in a personal best time of 1:29.47, 50 Breast (relay) in a 40.20, and 100 Free (relay) in a 1:11.07.

Not only did the Lady Redhawks swim fast and hard in their individual events, the relay teams performed at an extremely high level.  In the 200 Medley Relay, the team of Long, R. Winnie, Brownell, and Jones placed 4th in a time 2:00.59 and the team of Rellinger, A. Winnie, Konkle, and Loonen finished 12th in a time of 2:18.16.  The team of R. Winnie, Rewa, A. Machalka, and Peek placed 9th in the 200 Free Relay in the time of 1:53.66 and the team of Wade, H. Machalka, Konkle, and Loonen placed 12th in a 2:02.59.  In the 400 Free Relay, the team of Peek, Brownell, Long, and Jones finished 4th in a time of 4:04.96 and team of A. Machalka, Rellinger, Rewa, and Wade placed 9th with a time of 4:26.26.

Marshall Divers traveled to Allegan on Friday, 11/6 to compete in the diving competition.  Both Kennedy Lynn and Maddie Kue scored personal high scores.  Kennedy placed 6th with a score of 290.95 and Maddie placed 16th with a 206.45.  Kennedy will move forward to compete in diving regionals on Thursday, 11/12/20.

The 200 Medley Relay team consisting of Larin Long, Reagan Winnie, Miriam Brownell, and Jaylyn Jones will compete in the state meet on Saturday, November 21st.
