Marshall Redhawks Swim Fast at Mason
Saturday, February 20, 2021
Our Marshall Redhawk Divers & Swimmers competed against DeWitt, Jackson and Mason at the Mason Swim and Dive Invitational today. It was fast-moving and exciting; our swimmers suited up and came away with LOTS of Personal Records — that means that Coach Karns will be getting a few dozen candy bars for:

·         Seniors Aiden Bohl, Anthony Dent, Parker Gilbertson, James Ruedisueli, Nate Turner and Andrew Westphal

·         Juniors Isaac Culp, Jerome Korten, Noah Kue, Kieran Russell and Carter Wheeler

·         Freshmen Branden Contat, Dom Dent, Nick Ferreira, Josh Kase, Micah Morehouse and Cole Osterwalder

Overall, the team scores were quite close. The DeWitt Panthers got 595 points, the Mason Bulldogs 538, our Marshall Redhawks 534 and the Jackson Panthers 420.

Diver Josh Kase got 274.70 points, claiming 3rd place in a group of nine divers from the four schools. Marshall got first place in three swimming events: 200 Yard Medley Relay, 100 Yard Backstroke (Nate Turner 54.84) and 100 Yard Breaststroke (Anthony Dent 1:01.13).

Our Redhawks earned a Mason High School POOL RECORD with the 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Jerome Korten, Anthony Dent, Nate Turner and Isaac Culp at 1:40.66! New state cuts were gained in the 100 Yard Backstroke (Nate Turner 54.84, Jerome Korten 57.94) and the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Isaac Culp, Jerome Korten, Anthony Dent and Nate Turner with 3:29.93

Next up is a dual meet on Tuesday at home versus Allegan. Go Redhawks!
