Girls Varsity Soccer · Girls Varsity Soccer Wins Big Over Lakeview

Marshall defeated non-league opponent Battle Creek Lakeview yesterday at Marshall High School by a final score of 5-0.

Marshall controlled most of the game.  Despite several multiple good chances, Marshall’s halftime lead was only 1-0 courtesy of a Madelyn St. John goal on a direct free kick.
In the second half, Marshall did a much better job of taking advantage of their superior play.  In the second half, Marshall got goals from Addie Waito (assisted by Madelyn St. John & Ella McAllister), Ella McAllister (assisted by Madelyn St John), Zoie Banfield (assisted by Natalia Egnatuk), and Mallory Tucker (assisted by Addie Waito) for the final score of 5-0.
With an excellent defense in front of her, Lauren Lyon went the distance in goal for the shutout.  It is the team’s 5th shutout for the season.
With the win, Marshall moves to 5-1-2 on the season and currently has a 5 game unbeaten streak.  Marshall returns to action on Wednesday, May 5th, when they travel to Battle Creek to take on Pennfield High School in an I-8 Conference match-up.
