Marshall Volleyball – Leland Invite Recap (8/23/25)

Marshall Volleyball opened their 2025 season on Saturday at the Leland Invite. The Redhawks started strong with victories over Leland, Elk Rapids, and Athens. They battled hard in two highly competitive matches but came up just short—falling in three sets by only two points each against Morley Stanwood and Plymouth Christian.

The Redhawks were led offensively by Brynn Johnson, who finished the weekend with an impressive 54 kills, 8 aces, and 24 digs. Claire Kelly added 18 kills, while Brooke Stealy contributed 12 kills, 14 digs, and 7 aces. Running the offense, Addie Carden tallied 92 assists to go along with 8 aces and 15 digs. Defensively, Jordyn St. John anchored the back row with 37 digs.

“This team has a lot of potential, they're going to be fun to watch as they continue to progress throughout the season. We were a couple points away from winning the entire tournament. These girls are ready to compete for each other,” said Coach Bre Johnson.
