Varsity Girls Fall to Coldwater
Varsity Girls Fall to Coldwater
Posted on 01/26/2026

The varsity girls basketball team hosted Coldwater on Friday and lost by a score of 43-54.

“Unfortunately, we did not play our best tonight and against solid teams, you have to do that. We struggled to score in the first half and were trailing by 10 at most times on the game. In the fourth quarter, we rallied back and got it within 3 but couldn’t hang on to that momentum. This was an odd week with numerous snow days, missed practices, etc so that didn’t help normal flow but in the end, we needed to play better. It happens, we need to learn from it and move on. Hopefully this is a catalyst for us to come out stronger from the start so we don’t have to work so hard to make up deficit we found ourselves in early on. I thought Jordyn St. John stepped up huge for us in the second half on the offensive end of the floor and showed very little fear attacking the basket. I was proud of us for rallying back in the fourth where it could have been really easy to throw in the towel.
In the end, we’ve got to control the things we can control better than we did tonight. I know these girls will bounce back and will continue to work to make improvements.”

Scoring
Jordyn St. John-14
Ally Koenig-11
Grace Shubert-8
Brielle Kelly-7
Brynn Johnson-3

The loss puts the team at 8-4 on the season.
