MMS Girls 🏀 is finally underway after missing over a week of practices with the deep freeze to start the season. 7A girls took the court Wednesday night to take on Hastings to kick off their middle school career. With all the missing practice time, the team leaned on their years of experience together to just focus on the basics of ball and what they could control, their energy and effort. 
The girls came about and imposed their will with a stifling defense and really got the ball moving up court quickly. They made the extra pass when needed for easy buckets as well. This led them to a 14-2 lead after Q1. They kept the pressure on from there taking a 26-6 lead into halftime. The second half all the girls were able to get a good amount of playing time and coast to a 39-22 victory👏
Leading the way scoring and on the boards for Marshall was Sophia Sizemore with 18 pts, followed by Charlotte Thompson with 10 pts, Aislyn Miller with 7 pts, and Molly West and Gretel Saber with 2 pts each.
