The varsity girls basketball team traveled to Otsego for a non-conference contest. Despite battling hard in the fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough to make up for the first half deficit they found themselves in. “We battled until the final whistle tonight. Unfortunately it was the same story we’ve told multiple times this season. We didn’t come out great in the first half and got outplayed. The second quarter really hurt us getting outscored 6-17. We talked at halftime about needing everyone to do something better- coaching, rebounding limiting turnovers, attacking the basket, bench energy- we all had something to work on. I’m proud to say that we did indeed make improvements but it just wasn’t quite enough in the end. If we can find a way to play with second half energy in the first half, we could have much better outcomes. This team fights every time, there’s no doubt about that. Ally Koenig was great, exploding for 21 in the second half and Jordyn St. John was very confident attacking the basket scoring 10 of her 12 in the second half”
