The MHS boys swim team wrapped up the regular season at the SCC League Championships, hosted by Plainwell Community Schools. The two-day meet delivered an exciting finish to the season, highlighted by numerous personal-best performances, new State qualifiers, and a special tribute honoring Coach Karns for 34 years of dedicated service to the swimming program.
After an intense training schedule, the boys were able to showcase the results of their hard work, closing out the regular season with numerous personal-best performances. Those achieving season bests included A.J. Coats in the 100 backstroke and 200 IM; Easton Dale in the 100 breaststroke and 100 freestyle; Caleb Galloway in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke; Jude Hawley in the 200 and 500 freestyle; Colton Ralph in the 50 and 100 freestyle; Caleb Riggs in the 500 freestyle; Ryan Robinson in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly; Jackson Rozell in the 500 freestyle; Jack Warner in the 100 breaststroke; and D.J. Wilson in the 200 and 500 freestyle.
Building on a season filled with steady improvement and determination, several Redhawks earned their place at the State meet with outstanding performances.The State qualifiers for MHS include A.J. Coats in the 100 backstroke; Easton Dale in the 100 breaststroke; Connor Fish in both the 50 and 100 freestyle; Ryan Robinson in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly; and D.J. Wilson in the 500 freestyle. In addition, the Medley Relay team of A.J. Coats (backstroke), Easton Dale (breaststroke), Ryan Robinson (butterfly), and Austin Fish (freestyle) also qualified for the State meet with a time of 1:46.42, showcasing the depth and strength of the Redhawk lineup.
Congratulations to all of the swimmers on a fantastic season — your hard work, dedication, and steady improvement really paid off. With personal bests and league finals behind you, we’re incredibly proud of everything you’ve accomplished this year. Best of luck to those heading to the State Finals at the MHSAA Championships in Holland March 12–14, 2026 — swim fast, race hard, and represent MHS with pride!
