On Tuesday the Redhawks took on cross-town rival the Beavers of Harper Creek. Marshall jumped out to a quick two-point lead scoring off of the tip. Marshall continued to play strong through the remainder of the first quarter outscoring the Beavers 12-5. The Redhawks slowed a bit in the second quarter while Harper Creek warmed up. The game was tied going into halftime 19-19. Coming out off half the game went back and forth and trailed the Beavers by 2 at the end of the third quarter 35-33. The Beavers came out strong to start the fourth growing their lead to six points. After back to back stops and strong defensive play the Redhawks slashed their way back into a two-point deficit. With 1:30 left in the game the Redhawks stole the ball, set up their offense and nailed a clutch 3 pointer taking the lead with 58 seconds left in the game. Harper extended the game sending the Redhawks to the line to shoot one and one. With 10 seconds left in the game, a Redhawk missed free throw gave the Beavers a last-second chance to win the game. The Redhawks forced a quick shot that bounced off the backboard giving the Redhawks the win!

The Redhawks are back in action on Thursday as they travel to Hastings to take on the Saxons. Tip-off is approximately 5:45. Come out and support your Redhawks!

Leading scorers were Jamari Culliver with 20 points, Dimitri Egnatuk and Jake Jacoby each had 6 points, Dominic Dent contributed 4 points, Mi’Kal McCormick added 3 points, Gavin Spence had 2 points and Alec Schnaitman rounded out the scoring with 1 point.
