On Thursday the Redhawks found themselves in a clash of skill when they hosted the Panthers of Parma Western. Marshall found themselves trailing most of the first half as they struggled with the turnover bug. Although they were not able to accomplish what they wanted in the first half they never gave up going into halftime down 18-12. After half they found new life going on an 8-0 run to open the third. They controlled the ball much better and played shut down defense. Once the Redhawks gained the lead early in the third they would not give it back. The game would get close at times, but every time the Panthers clawed their way back in, the Redhawks found a way to regain momentum. Marshall had the lead at the end of the third 26-24. In the fourth, the Redhawks showed their defensive prowess forcing the Panthers to take more outside shots than they wanted. Marshall was in foul trouble most of the game and eventually, they got the calls they needed to get to the line. Two late free throws put the Redhawks up by 7. A late layup by the Panthers finished the game with a 40-35 victory for your Redhawks.
The Redhawks are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Coldwater to take on the Cardinals. The game is at Legg Middle School and tip-off is approximately 5:45. Come out and support your Redhawks.
