The Marshall boys JV basketball team hosted Grand Ledge on Tuesday night and came away with a great hard fought victory, 63-55. Marshall came out ready to play, and scored 25 points the first quarter. But Grand Ledge was too good and well coached to just give up. Grand Ledge scored 23 in the second quarter and took a two point halftime lead. Grand Ledge built a seven point lead early in the fourth quarter, but the Marshall boys would not give up and kept fighting to the end. This win shows the toughness these boys have, yet being undersized in most every game.
Leading the way was Josh Pugh with a stat stuffing game: 16 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Alex Costa added 14 points and 6 rebounds, Isaac Stetler scored 12 points, Jayson Janofski added 11. Stephen Turner had 4 points and 7 rebounds, Ivan Green adding 4 points, and Carson Delong scoring 2.
Record moves to 12-2 with next game this Thursday at Pennfield with a 7:00 start time.
