Marshall traveled to Harper Creek High School this evening and came away with a thrilling 5-3 victory. The Redhawks trailed 3-1 early in the 2nd half, but rallied to score 4 unanswered goals and claim the victory.
Brady Tatrow scored an early goal assisted by Carson Tucker and Anthony Dent to give Marshall a 1-0 lead. Harper Creek capitalized on a defensive mistake by Marshall to even the score and scored again later in the half to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Harper stretched the lead to 3-1 with an unstoppable long-range shot. Marshall then rallied for four answered goals. Josh Pugh scored to make it 3-2 with assists going to Vaughn Klein and Anthony Dent. Next Marshall tied the score at 3-3 with a Jayson Janofski goal assisted by Josh Pugh. Marshall then took the lead on a goal by Dominic Dent assisted by Jayson Janofski and Caleb Graeber. Finally Marshall added an insurance goal from Brady Tatrow with assists going to Vaughn Klein and Jayson Janofski.
With the win, their third in a row, Marshall moves to 3-1-0 overall on the season and 2-0-0 in I-8 Conference play.
Marshall returms to action when they travel to Coldwater for another I-8 Conference game othis Thursday evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30pm.
