Marshall stretched their win streak to seven games with a 5-0 victory over the visitors from Stevensville-Lakeshore.
In a tightly fought 1st half, with Stevensville often having the better of the possession, Parker Gilbertson and Jayson Janokski were able to spring Josh Pugh into some space and he deposited the ball in the net to give Marshall a 1-0 lead. Lakeshore continued to give Marshall trouble, but was unable to score and the halftime score was 1-0 Marshall.
In the 2nd Marshall, Marshall exerted a lot more pressure and created a lot more scoring chances. In the second half, Marshall got a penalty kick goal from Josh Pugh to make the score 2-0. After that Brady Tatrow found the back of the net from an impossible angle with assists going to Josh Pugh and Marcos Eshuis. Dominic Dent extended the lead to 4-0 with a tidy finish from a Marcos Eshuis cross with Micah Martinson also getting an assist on the goal. Senior Parker Gilbertson finished off the Senior Day victory with a goal to make the score 5-0 with assists from Jayson Janofski and Dominic Dent.
With the win, Marshall moves to 7-1-0 on the year and wins its seventh consecutive game. Marshall returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Coldwater High School to play I-8 rivals Coldwater. A victory on Tuesday would clinch an outright I-8 championship for the Redhawks.
