The Marshall Redhawk runners won the I-8 Conference Championship on Saturday to tie for 1st place in the conference standings. Five of the Marshall runners ran under 17 minutes to get the job done! I was so happy to see all of the top five do it,” said Coach Casagranda! “The team really is coming alive at the perfect time in the season. This win will carry them nicely into the Regional meet next Saturday where we hope to qualify to run in the State Meet.” Marshall’s final varsity runners were Paul Radulescu 26th (17:43) and Spencer Zick 27th (17:44) who were able to get ahead of Harper Creek’s fifth runner and increase their score. “The guys are really trying to run as a pack. It is working well for them!” All of Marshall’s top five guys were able to make the Conference All-League Honorable Mention Team for placing in the top fourteen runners in the Conference.
For the junior varsity team, freshman, Spencer Oswald set a personal best time of 19:40, Caden Heath (19:45) and Grant Rupp (19:49) both were able to break into the 19’s for the first time.
