Marshall High School

Marshall hosted Lumen Christi for a boys soccer match on Tuesday evening. Marshall took a 2-0 lead into halftime on unassisted goals by Trenton Wolkiewicz (free kick) and Rowdy Joseph (solo run). In the second half, Marshall got the same results, but produced a much better brand of soccer in the process. Max McCormack scored his 1st varsity goal (assisted by Carter Clapper and Rowdy Joseph) and then assisted Rowdy Joseph on the final goal of the evening. McCormack played one of his best matches as he was effective and dangerous all night long, resulting in several other quality chances in addition to the goal and assist he did produce. With the win, Marshall moves to 3-3-2 on the season. After a slow start (against tough competition), Marshall has now won three games in row and is unbeaten in their last 5 games. Goalkeeper Sam Krueger went the distance in goal to earn his third consecutive shutout and fourth in the season. Marshall returns to action on Thursday evening, when they host I-8 Conference rival Coldwater for the 1ste conference game of the year.
