Varsity vs South Haven High School MHS Varsity vs South Haven High School (73 - 107) Loss The Marshall High School girls swimming and diving team turned in several strong performances against South Haven, highlighted by first-place finishes in the 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relays and an individual victory in the 100-yard butterfly. Autumn Sanchez led Marshall in the butterfly, capturing first place in the 100-yard event with a time of 1:13.28. Sanchez also finished second in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:27.18, contributing to a productive meet for the Marshall squad. Marshall’s relay teams delivered two of the meet’s top performances. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Ella Kaniewski, Isabella Russell, Katie Robinson and Sanchez took first place in 1:54.09. The same quartet, swimming in a different order, won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:14.03. The B team of Payton Huffman, Taylor Olding, Emry Astleford and Kate Fedders finished the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:58.91. Robinson paced Marshall in the sprint freestyle events, placing second in the 50-yard freestyle in 28.37 seconds and second in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:02.98. Fedders also turned in strong sprint performances, finishing third in the 50 freestyle in 30.50 and third in the 100 freestyle in 1:07.67. Russell led Marshall’s distance swimmers, earning second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:21.99 and second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:55.24. Huffman added two third-place finishes, swimming the 200 freestyle in 2:28.97 and the 500 freestyle in 6:48.11. Taylor Olding finished fourth in the 200 freestyle in 2:47.61. In the backstroke, Olding placed third in the 100-yard event with a time of 1:26.27, while Ameleah Hill finished fourth in 1:31.97. Isabella Towne also competed in the event, recording a time of 1:35.14. Kaniewski contributed another runner-up finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:25.75. Mary Fedders placed fifth in the same event with a time of 1:37.75. Kaniewski also finished fourth in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:46.66. Additional performances included Hill’s sixth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle in 33.19 seconds, Zoey White’s fifth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:20.13, and Astleford’s times of 1:31.43 in the 100-yard butterfly and 3:16.06 in the 200-yard individual medley. Marshall’s A medley relay team finished third in 2:32.31, while the B team placed fourth in 2:40.83. The relay victories, strong sprint performances and consistent distance results highlighted Marshall’s effort against South Haven.
