The Marshall Redhawk JV boys soccer team traveled to Parma and came away with a 3-1 victory. After a string of three consecutive losses it was a well needed victory. Marshall came out ready to play from the opening whistle. Marshall was defensively organized, keeping Parma from generating anything dangerous. Offensively Marshall had trouble breaking down the high Panther back line and were called for several offsides before Myles Olson put a well struck ball off the crossbar that Joe Grinston was able to clean up making 1-0 going into the half.
Halftime adjustments were made and Marshall came out moving the ball with purpose when Gavin Ramey found Olson on a beautifully played ball over the top that was calmly tucked away making it 2-0. A few minutes later a failed clearance led to a Western goal making it 2-1. Minutes later Grinston won a ball and went on the attack finding a cutting Lucas Niemann to goal who buried the third goal putting the game out of reach. It was the most complete game the Redhawks have played. With the win Marshall moves to 2-4 on the season. They look for back to back wins on Tuesday hosting Jackson Northwest, kick off is 5pm with varsity to follow.
