Marshall ladies battled the rest of the I-8 schools at Cedar Creek Golf Course on Wednesday September 25.
It was a very good showing for Marshall finishing with a team season low score of 398, good for 2nd in the Championship I an exciting finish that had Zadie Zuehlke and Aubrey Dysinger each bested their Nothwest counterparts by one stroke on the final hole, to better the rival Northwest Mounties by one stroke in team total. This one stroke margin was enough to elevate the RedHawk ladies to a season finish of 2nd Place.
Leading the RedHawk ladies was Senior Zadie Zuehlke with a season, team, and personal best round of 94 and a 5th place individual finish. She was followed by Freshman Anna Thompson with a season and personal best 96 and 7th place finish.
Following Marshall’s top two finishers was team Captain, Junior Aubrey Tarkiewicz with a 103 and 17th place, followed by fellow Junior classmate Aubrey Dysinger who carded a season best 105 for 20th. This is the third League Championship for both Tarkiewicz and Dysinger.
Also, playing in the championship for Marshall were Freshmen Anna Vincent and Sophie Fondren who shot 118 (30th) and 125 (35th).
This was an incredible finish for the RedHawk Ladies who moved up from 7th in 2022, to 5th in 2023, and now 2nd in 2024.
Accompanying this great season results for the team Zadie Zuehlke and Anna Thompson earned individual All Conference 1st Team honors and Team Captain Aubrey Tarkiewicz earned an All- Conference Honorable Mention for the second year in a row.
The team now prepares for the MHSAA Region 15 Championship on October 10 @ Arbor Hills Golf Course. Come on out and support these amazing student/athletes. The Marshall ladies are working hard to continue to improve their team score and qualify for the State Championship match for the 1st time since 2019.
GO REDHAWKS!
