Marshall standout cross country and track athlete senior Jack Bidwell has been named a finalist for Michigan's Gatorade Athlete of the Year in Cross Country.  Jack is currently the second ranked runner in the entire state, behind only the 14th ranked runner nationally, TJ Hansen of Freeland.  Last Saturday Jack became one of less than 20 Michigan runners in history to break the 15 minute barrier.

 

"Jack has worked very hard to achieve this honor" said a proud Coach Wissink.  "He has been All State in cross country the last two seasons and anchored our State Championship 3200 Meter Relay team last spring.  He also set five school records last spring.  He trains very hard year round and spent three weeks this summer with teammate Reece Davis training at altitude in Colorado.  Jack is being recruited by a number of DI programs and has tremendous potential to excel at the next level.  

All of Marshall should be very proud of this outstanding young man".
