The Boys Cross Country Team traveled to Portage in search of their first regional championship in over 40 years. Entering the meet dead even with state ranked Otsego and Three Rivers, the Redhawks immediately took charge and beat both teams and the rest of the field by 30 points.
Jack Bidwell led the team with his second consecutive regional championship, followed closely by fellow All Regional team members Abe McHugh and Reece Davis. Clark Erwin missed making All Regional by .05 seconds, running a 20 second personal record. Ty Winchell closed out the Redhawks scoring while also running a PR. Cam and Chase Weers completed the varsity seven.
"We've been focused on this meet for about 360 days, and the boys rose to the occasion like the champions that they are", said Coach Wissink. "When these seven guys ran together this fall their record was 102 - 1. We're excited to return to MIS and run for a state championship".
Leah McPartlin also qualified to run in the State Championship by placing ninth in the girl's race.
