The 8th grade A boys basketball traveled to Harper Creek for their first basketball game last evening. The boys started very slow on both ends of the court after missing several layups and allowing open shooters. At the end of the first quarter they found themselves trailing 21-5. The second quarter was much better on the defensive end as the Redhawks ended the first half trailing 23-8.

 

In the second half, the Redhawks turned up the defensive intensity and found multiple open shooters to close the deficit to 5 in the middle of the fourth quarter. The game would get no closer from there as Harper Creek pulled away for a final score of 39-27. Marshall really showed some grit and teamwork after the first quarter and hopes to build on that in their next game on Thursday when they host Hastings at MMS.
