Marshall, MI – October 25, 2024 – Is a memorable occasion for Emmalie Hirst and Marshall High School (MHS), the talented softball athlete has committed to Spring Arbor University (SAU) to further her academic and athletic pursuits.
Emmalie, a left-handed pitcher and outfielder for the MHS Softball Team, has been a standout
athlete throughout high school. She is known for her pitching accuracy, aggressive behavior, and
mental toughness. Emmalie has consistently impressed coaches, teammates, and fans alike. "I'm thrilled to announce my commitment to SAU, I can't wait to join the SAU Softball family and contribute to their success," said Emmalie.
SAU is equally excited to welcome Emmalie to their Softball program. Deb Thompson, head coach of the SAU Softball team, expressed her enthusiasm for the new addition: "We're delighted to have Emmalie join our program. Her talent, work ethic, and character align perfectly
with our values. We believe she will be a valuable asset to our team and contribute significantly to our future success."
As Emmalie embarks on this new chapter of her athletic career, she will undoubtedly make a lasting impact on the SAU Softball program. Her dedication, talent, and passion for the game will inspire her teammates and fans alike.
Emmalie has been a dedicated softball player for 10 years, with her first season starting at 8 years old for the Marshall City Recreation Department. Since then, Emmalie has played travel
softball under the coaching staff of Trevor Kelly and Scott Carden through Finesse West Fastpitch. “I’ve watched Emmalie grow in so many ways since 10u. Her work ethic and competitive nature have helped her become one of the premier pitchers in West Michigan and I couldn’t be more excited that she has found her home for the next 4.” Trevor Kelly. “It has been a joy and a blessing to work with Emmalie over the years and to watch her grow as a softball player and young adult. I’m excited to watch her in this next chapter.” Scott Carden.
In the fall of 2024, Emmalie committed to play for MI Storm during her off time from MHS and SAU. “The MI Storm family is so excited for Emmalie! She has been so much fun to have as a part of our group and we cannot wait to see everything SAU has to offer her!
