The Redhawk Swimmers started the season in 11th place at the 77th annual Cereal City relays at BCCHS with 148 points. Our seasoned swimmers were ready to get some best times, while our new swimmers stepped up ready for the new challenge.
J. Rozell, B. Snyder, R. Robinson, and I. Corralez started the meet by placing 7th in the 500 Yard Up-Down relay with a time of 5:17.37.
This was followed by a relay with a combination of returning and new swimmers in the 400 yard relays.
- P. Dubois, A. Strand, L. Scott, and J. Rozell in the 400 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:05.95
- I. Egnatuk, L. Dale, A. Coats, and C. Pratt place 6th in the 400 Yard I.M. Relay with a time of 4:35.43
- C. Pratt, I. Egnatuk, R. Robinson, and B. Snyder in the 400 Yard Medley with a time of 4:13.97.
The next 200 yard relays were a chance to show speed rather than endurance. The following relay teams allowed new swimmers to work together for the first time too.
- I. Corralez, J. Tanner, L. Dale, and A. Coats in the 200 Butterfly with 2:01.01
- A. Coats, J. Tanner, L. Dale, P. DuBois in the 200 Backstroke with 2:24.28
- P. Dubois, I. Corralez, J. Rozell, and J. Tanner in the 200 yard Medley with 2:26.56
- A. Fish, A Lerma, J. Spence, and C. Fish in the 200 Yard Freestyle with 2:32.60.
The meet quickly progressed by challenging our seasoned swimmers to the 800 yard relays. The boys stepped up and gave it their all to end with the following results:
- C. Pratt, I. Egnatuk, R. Robinson, and B. Snyder in the 800 yard Freestyle with a final time of 9:19.88 coming 7th place overall.
This is only the start for Varsity Swimming. The next swimming is on 12/11 in Allegan quickly followed by a home meeting on 12/14.
