The Marshall girls bowling team moved to 3-0 on the young season with a 26.5 - 3.5 defeat of the Olivet Eagles at Marshall Lanes Thursday afternoon. Game one was won by a score of 683 - 570 while game two was 664 - 496. Summer Stone led the charge on the day with scores of 178 and 152, Delilah Fields chipped in with games of 156 and 151 and Zoey Stone added 140. Baker games both went Marshall's way with scores 150 - 140 and 105 - 100.
The Redhawks are only beginning to scratch the surface of their capabilities, but they have been taking care of business even in the absence of their captain and anchor, Ember Boughton due to injury. The team is eagerly anticipating her return. The girls will be working to raise their level of play in preparation for conference play and competition in some challenging tournaments to help prepare them for post season competition. Spare shooting will be the key. Improving their spare shooting will raise scores significantly. The will be the difference between winning and losing going forward.
Looking ahead, the ladies will return to Marshall Lanes on Saturday for a mixed scotch doubles event with the Marshall Boys team. Joining the competition will be pairings from Lumen Christi, Sturgis, Coldwater, Olivet and Hastings. Competition begins at 10 AM.
