The Marshall varsity girls basketball team faced their toughest competition of the season so far Tuesday night against a solid team from Mason. “We knew Mason was going to play tough pressure, in your face defense and that’s exactly what they did. We started off rough going down 0-8 in the first few minutes. We then clawed our way back and continued to fight, trailing by 4 at half. At halftime we talked about controlling the controllables and doing all of the little things well. We were able to make some plays in the second half and were lead by some huge free throws from Emily in the fourth quarter. This group knows how to work hard and I’m confident that every night, they will give it their all until the last whistle. “
