The Marshall girls bowling team traveled to Char-Lanes in Charlotte on Thursday afternoon to take on the Eaton Rapids Greyhounds. Eaton Rapids was shorthanded with only three bowlers, but Marshall still had to take care of their business. Coach Stealy wanted them focusing on their game and using the opportunity to compete and get better. Well, that;s exactly what they did. They took every point for a 30-0 victory.
In game one of singles, Marshall had a score of 740 led by freshman Olivia Stone with a 195. Junior Summer Stone had a 161 and senior captain Ember Boughton turned in a 162. Lane transition made game two a little more challenging as the team was only able to muster a 668 led by Boughton with a 181 and Summer Stone with a 165.
With the victory secure, the Redhawks moved into the Baker portion. Rolling games of 137 and 131, the sweep was complete.
Marshall will now move into the holidays after a strong start to the season. They will travel to Coldwater on December 29 and Bronson on December 31 for singles events. Once the new year arrives, they will co-host the big Battle of the Baker at M-66 Bowl with Pennfield before starting conference play at home against Coldwater on January 9.
