Marshall Bowlers continue success on the lanes at Battle of the Baker

Sunday brought the Battle of the Baker tournament at M-66 that the Marshall bowlers co-hosted with Pennfield. Bowling consisted of 12 baker games with the top eight teams moving to best of 3 match play brackets.
Scoring was tough for both boys and girls on Sunday. Marshall girls led the field with 1755 giving them a twelve game average of 146.25, finishing 21 pins ahead of the second qualifier, Grass Lake. The boys fared slightly better with 1855, good got a 154.58 average and a 5th place qualification.
Moving into match play, the girls faced Brighton first. In a grind it out match, the Redhawks prevailed over Brighton in a grind it out match 2 games to 1. In the semi final match the girls defeated Jackson Northwest with ease before moving on to the finals against Grass Lake. In the finals, the Redhawks prevailed by winning games 1 and 3, bringing home the championship. Despite the tough scoring pace on the day, the ladies were able to fire two games over the 200 mark, showing just how capable they are of taking their game to an even higher level.
The boys match play began against Dewitt. The Redhawks quickly disposed of Dewitt in 2 games setting up a semi-final match against Macomb Dakota. This match came down to the final shot in the third game that saw the Redhawk fall by a single pin. Marshall then moved into the 3rd place match where they defeated Brighton to take home third place on the day.
The Redhawks return to action with a match against their rivals from Coldwater at Marshall Lanes on Thursday. Bowling is at 3:30 PM. Come on out to support these bowlers.
