The Marshall Boys Varsity Boys bowling team walked away with a win for the first conference
meet of the season against Coldwater. It was a slow start with only 2 points earned in the first
set of games. Leeland Murphy won his point with a game of 126 and Xavier VanDeMoortel won
his point with a 197 game. The Redhawks caught fire in the second set of games putting up an
891 series and 4 individual points were captured by Easton Collier (173), Ridge Novak (179),
Leeland Murphy (228) and Xavier VanDeMoortel (202) for the team allowing them to clinch
overall series and give them a 4-point lead heading into baker games. With only needing to win
one of the Baker games it came down to the 10 th frame and anchor VanDeMoortel was able to
close the tenth with 2 strikes and a 9 to win the Baker game with a 160 over Coldwaters 154.
This secured the win for the Redhawks with a final meet score of 16-4. The Boys Varsity team
will travel to Three Rivers Sunday to compete in an individual and overall team tournament.
