The Redhawk ladies suffered their first loss of the season at Jax 60 on Thursday at the hands of Jackson NW. Game 1 saw the Redhawks plagued by lackluster spare shooting. Frustration early led to more misses and low scores, with the top games on the team coming from Ember Boughton at 138, Olivia Stone with 137 and a rut that was too much to overcome while Northwest was rolling well. Final of game one was, 792 - 636. Game two was a completely different story. While no one on the team had a big score, the entire team contributed to a winning 751-734 score. Boughton had 139 and Stone had 159, while Zoey Stone turned in a 149. Stephanie Sobaski and Deliliah Creighton had 150 and 154, respectively.

Baker format brought a return of the spare shooting struggles and Marshall dropped both baker games and the match total ended at 21.5-8.5.

Friday was a "get right" day against a short handed Pennfield team. In game one, All five bowlers won their point, highlighted by a 183 game from Dalila Fields. Game two was nearly a complete sweep with Pennfield taking a single point. Marshall continued to thrive during the baker format, sweeping both games. The final tally, 29-1 in favor of Marshall.

Saturday, the Redhawks travelled to Jax 60 for the Mel Wolfe. This is a big tournament with some of the best teams in the state across all divisions. Coming out of the gate sluggishly, Marshall had a 726 led by Summer Stone's 167. Game two was better as the Hawks did a better job with spare shooting. Their game of 769 was led by Olivia Stone with a 165. Ember Boughton turned in a 159, Zoey Stone followed her with a 158 with Summer Stone battling through injury to bring home a 155.

Baker format was a roller coaster. The Redhawks had games of 114, 148, 101, 158, 141, 183 and 150. While things got better as that portion of the day went on, the missed spares proved costly. There were just too many pins left out there that should have been notched in the scoring column. Marshall finished the day in 11th out of the 24 team field, just 45 pins out of the cut for match play. Missing the cut by such a small number, given the number of open frames, shows the importance of making those shots. It also speaks to the skill level of this team to be that close despite such a struggle on the day.

The Redhawks look to get back on track this week with conference matchups at Pennfield on Monday and Coldwater on Tuesday, followed by another trip to Jax 60 to take on Lumen Christi on Thursday.
