The girls basketball team traveled to Portage Central Tuesday evening to face a talented Mustangs team.

“We found ourselves in a big hole early. Unfortunately when that happens, you have to claw your way out of it. We did that well in the second quarter but then again started the third quarter in the same way.

Portage Central was hitting everything tonight, they shot really well. We have to give them credit on both ends of the floor as they shut us down with tough, pressure defense. On defense we initially struggle in man to man defense against their big post players and then we struggled in our zone against their shooters.

It was one of those nights where we weren’t clicking and everything seemed to be falling for Portage Central. We’ll have these nights, we know this, but we have to respond and learn from this.

We now prepare for a game against Pennfield at MOHS on Friday.”
