The varsity girls basketball team lost a hard fought battle against Otsego Tuesday night by a score of 60-65. The team battled back and forth all game but came up short when the final whistle blew. 

 

"I thought we played really hard tonight. We were getting really knocked around on the offensive end of the floor and didn't feel like we got some calls we typically would but the girls battled through the adversity. We talked at halftime about controlling what we can control, our attitude and effort, specifically in regard to rebounding the ball. We knew we'd have to rebound well against Otsego as they were taller than us in most positions on the floor but we didn't get all of the boards we needed to tonight. We will go back to drilling our rebounding at practice and continuing to be intentional on the glass.

 

Offensively, we did some really nice things and had huge nights from Brielle Kelly with 20 points, including 4 three pointers (who was also celebrating her 17th birthday) and Emily Dingee with 27 points.

 

Defensively, we made some adjustments early on and the girls played really hard, I certainly was pleased with how hard we played throughout the game. I know we'll make these improvements and the girls will come back eager on Friday against Hastings."
