Marshall swimmers were honored to be the first team to break in the new Plainwell swimming pool on February 11, 2025. The excitement of competing in the brand-new facility, coupled with it being the last meet before League Championships and a chance to make state cut times, filled the air. The boys gave it their all while still pushing through peak week practices before and after school.
The meet kicked off with the 200-yard Medley Relay, where the team of Carter Pratt, Ledger Dale, Ryan Robinson, and Brayden Snyder posted a time of 1:46.88, clinching first place and securing the first state cut score of the night! The energy from the MHS boys was infectious as they celebrated the achievement. Congratulations to the first relay team to make state cuts!
Next, Carter Pratt swam the 50 freestyle in 23.1 seconds, just fractions of a second shy of the state cut. Determined to make it, Carter came back strong in his next 50 free during the relay, hitting a time of 22.9 seconds and securing another state cut! With two cuts now under his belt, Carter is well on his way to states. Keep pushing, Carter!
The swimmers are finishing up the week with peak week conditioning, which is no easy feat. With before and after-school practices all week, they are gearing up for the League Championships at the end of February, the final opportunity to hit those state cut times. Let’s go, Marshall swimmers! #GoRedhawks
