The Marshall Girls Basketball program honored former athlete, teacher, and coach, Kari Jolink (Searles) Friday night by presenting a check to the Searles and Jolink Family. The funds raised by the girls from their annual Free Throw-a-thon were donated to help fund the Kari On Memorial Scholarship. Cancer took Kari from us 9 years ago. Kari was a 2001 graduate of Marshall High School. She was an outstanding student-athlete at MHS. As a basketball player Kari, number 13, left a remarkable legacy.
She also made an enormous impact on the entire Marshall Community as a teacher, coach, coworker, volunteer, daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was an exemplary role model for our youth and will continue to impact the youth of Marshall Public Schools through the Kari-On Memorial Scholarship.
The program was able to donate $2,250 this year after receiving pledges and donations from family and friends.
The Marshall Girls basketball program would like to thank all of its supports for the generous financial support donations.
