Game 1: Marshall 16, Western 1
Layne Churchill attacked the zone for 4 innings in this mercy rule game, giving up 3 hits and striking out 10. Equally impressive at the plate, she was 4-4 with 3 doubles and 3 rbis. Brooke Carden was 3-4 with a home run and 6 rbi. Bella Ryan homered while multiple other Redhawks collected multiple hits.
Game 2: Marshall 12, Western 2
Claire Kelly pitched 6 strong innings, scattering 5 hits and racking up 7 strikeouts. All of Claire’s innings were quality innings, attacking the strikezone and working ahead. Offensively Layne Churchill went 4-4 again, this time with two home runs and 4 RBI. Claire Kelly and Lauren Lewis each collected 3 hits, Gwen Beach and Bella Ryan doubled. Addison Carden tripled and added an rbi.
