Game 1 Marshall 17, Hastings 1

In this conference doubleheader, we took care of business in all phases. We scored 7 in the bottom of the 1st inning and 10 in the bottom of the 2nd. I thought we were aggressive, swinging at good pitches. Layne Churchill hit a 3 run homer to left center, her 9th of the year. Collecting multiple hits were Brielle Kelly, Brooke Carden, Bella Ryan, Gwen Beach, and Claire Kelly. Claire picked up the win, pitching 3 innings with 1 run and 8 strikeouts. 

 

Game 2 Marshall 15, Hastings 0

Between games we celebrated our senior, Emmalie Hirst. While Emmalie is still recovering from her injuries, she has a huge impact on this team. There were a lot of hugs, a lot of smiles, and plenty of tears. We will miss you Emm, thanks for everything you’ve given the program! Layne Churchill pitched all 3 innings without giving up a run and striking out 7. Bella Ryan had a huge game going 2-3 with a home run and 4 RBIs. The HR was her 8th of the year. Brooke Carden, Brielle Kelly, Claire Kelly, and Bella Ryan all doubled as well. We play at Northwest on Tuesday, May 20 for the conference championship!
