Marshall High School Men’s Golf Team had a great spring season in 2025. The team concluded its season at Michigan State Region 9 competition on Tuesday at Island Hills Golf Club in Centreville.
The Marshall regional team consisted of seniors Kayden Granger and Xander Goss, Junior Clark Erwin and sophomores Karson Moga and Colten Scherer and sophomore Henry Strand (reserve).
Unfortunately the RedHawk men fell a few strokes short in their efforts to make it to the State Division 2 finals.
They did however achieve many team and individual milestones in a highly competitive I-8 league and regional golf season.
The RedHawks as a team set some new school records with three rounds under 300, with a 294 @ Onsted Invitational on May 13 , and a 295 @ I-8 League Championship on May 14 and a 299 @ Lakeview Invitational on May 5. This was a major accomplishment in that no team in Marshall’s storied golf history has this ever occurred.
In addition a phenomenal 17 golfers either lowered their personal best score or for first year players, lowered it from the beginning to the end of the year.
Those who posted milestone personal bests were:
Kayden Granger 69 (twice)
Xander Goss 70
Clark Erwin 72
Henry Strand 74
Karson Moga 76
Colten Scherer 76
Augustus DuFresne 80
Landon Fazekas 81
Asa Strand 83
Riese Domingo 87
Thane Brownell 88
Gavin Ramey 88
Toren Jones 91
Jude Graeber 93
Penn Hilton 94
Raige Joseph 95
Owan Jakubas 97
That’s an amazing 17 out of 22 that posted as good or better than ever before in a high school 18 hole round. There were also several 9 hole personal bests this year.
As a team the Marshall RedHawks also had three 1st place finishes at Onsted Invitational, Clinton Invitational and I-8 League Finals, and two 2nd place finishes at Coldwater Invitational and Lakeview Invitational.
A special shout out to Seniors Kayden Granger and Xander Goss and Junior Clark Erwin who as a group had rounds of Par or below, and won multiple top ten medals, and Clark Erwin, in particular for two events where he earned Medalist (1st Place) Honors, as did Kayden Granger in another event.
The team consensus after this spring was “If you liked that, wait till you see us next spring!”
Go RedHawks!!!
